Typography is something which it is possible to make out of nearly anything. Many designers, including myself, have experimented with creating type from things they find lying around their homes and this is something Bureau Bruneau has done in this self-initiated project. You may remember I talked about some of his work in a post on apocalyptic design recently.
In this piece, he creates the type from a train set he found in his Grandmother’s basement, creating the structure of the letters from the tracks and using the trains and extras as decorations.
These sort of self-initiated experimental projects are something that I really want to have a go at to build up a body of non-uni work. If I do get round to doing any, this blog is where you’ll find out about them.
