Just a quick post today, but an interesting one nonetheless. When Dutch design company Gummo was tasked by TNT Post to create a series of stamps based on inspirational Dutch architecture, they decided to bring stamps into the 21st century. They did this by incorporating an augmented reality image into each stamp, which displays the building in 3D when viewed on a webcam.
Augmented reality is fast becoming the next big thing in the world of design, much like QR codes did previously with advertising. I wouldn’t be shocked to see this concept applied more and more to design work in the future.
